My Hero Academia

My Hero Academia (Japanese: 僕のヒーローアカデミア, Hepburn: Boku no Hīrō Akademia) is a Japanese superhero manga series written and illustrated by Kōhei Horikoshi. It’s been serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump since July 2014, with its chapters also collected into 27 tankōbon volumes as of July 2020. The narrative follows Izuku Midoriya, a boy born with no superpowers (called Quirks) at a universe where they’ve been commonplace, but that still dreams of becoming a hero himself. He is scouted by All Might, Japan’s greatest hero, who shares his Quirk with Midoriya after recognizing his potential, and afterwards helps to enroll him at a prestigious high school for heroes in coaching.

The manga was adapted into an anime television series by Bones. Its first year aired in Japan from April to June 2016, followed by a second season from April to September 2017, then a third season from April to September 2018, a fourth year from October 2019 to April 2020, and a fifth season was announced.

An animated movie titled My Hero Academia: Two Heroes was released in August 2018. Another animated film titled My Hero Academia: Heroes Growing was released in December 2019. There are plans for a live-action film by Legendary Entertainment. The show has been licensed for an English-language release by Viz Media and began serialization in their weekly digital manga anthology Weekly Shonen Jump at February 2015.

Shueisha began to simulpublish the show in English on the website and program Manga Plus in January 2019.The manga won the 2019 Harvey Award for the Best Manga. As of December 2019, the manga had over 26 million copies in print. Both the manga and anime have received an overwhelmingly positive response from both critics and audiences and is considered one of the very best of the 2010s

A Short Summary:

Izuku Midoriya dreams of being a Hero despite being calmed by his abusive childhood friend Katsuki Bakugo for lacking a Quirk. The two youths idolize among the world’s best heroes All Might, who they both met with Izuku being among few to understand of an crucial accident All Might has been hiding from the public eye to keep morale. All Might also shows the character of his Quirk”One For All” and passes it down to Izuku to succeed after viewing the youth’s determination in the face of danger.

As Izuku begins his route to becoming a fanatic in attending U.A. High School (雄英高校, Yūei Kōkō) alongside Bakugo along with the friends they earn Class 1-A, a nemesis to the”One For All” users called All For One requirements his apprentice Tomura Shigaraki to destroy the current society and its heroes.

Manga:

My Hero Academia is written and illustrated by Kōhei Horikoshi. It originated from the one-shot My Hero (僕のヒーロー, Boku no Hīrō), which Horikoshi desired to become a series after the end of Barrage. It started its serialization in the manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump on July 7, 2014. As of July 2020, the show was gathered into twenty-seven tankōbon volumes. The series is licensed for its English-language release in North America by Viz Media, who published the first volume on August 4, 2015.

As the series is printed in Japan, it is also released concurrently in English digitally by Viz Media’s Weekly Shōnen Jump. The show is currently licensed for the English-language release in North America by Viz Media. The first volume was released in English on July 3, 2018. A third spin-off series, My Hero Academia: Team-Up Missions by Yōkō Akiyama, started serialization at Saikyō Jump on August 2, 2019, with a prologue chapter debuting in Shōnen Jump GIGA on July 25, 2019. Anime:

On October 29, 2015, the series’ official Twitter announced that My Hero Academia would obtain an anime adaptation made by Studio Bones. With the anime announced, Toho registered the domain name”heroaca.com” as the anime’s website. The anime is directed by Kenji Nagasaki, composed by Yōsuke Kuroda, and featured personality designs by Yoshihiko Umakoshi and music composed by Yuki Hayashi.

The anime celebrities Marina Inoue as Momo Yaoyorozu, Yoshimasa Hosoya as Fumikage Tokoyami, Daiki Yamashita as Izuku Midoriya, Kenta Miyake as All Might, Nobuhiko Okamoto as Katsuki Bakugō, Ayane Sakura as Ochako Uraraka, Kaito Ishikawa as Tenya Iida, Aoi Yuki as Tsuyu Asui, Ryou Hirohashi as Minoru Mineta.The anime continues on MBS along with other Japan News Network stations in the Nichigo time slot in 5 P.M. on Sundays in Japan.

The opening theme is”The Day”, performed by Porno Graffitti and the ending theme is”Heroes”, performed by Brian the Sun.In March 2016, Funimation declared they had licensed the international rights for streaming services, the home and broadcast launch, along with the product rights. Universal Pictures UK distributed the initial season in the Uk and Ireland on behalf of Funimation, with Sony Pictures UK distributing the second season for Funimation, and Manga Entertainment distributing subsequent seasons for Funimation.

In Australia and New Zealand, Universal Sony Pictures Home Entertainment dispersed the first two seasons, on behalf of Funimation, with Madman Entertainment dispersing season 3 onwards, in partnership with Funimation.Another season was announced in the Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine 30th issue of 2016. It premiered on April 1, 2017, on Nippon TV and Yomiuri TV, and ended on September 30, 2017, together with the staff and cast in the first season returning to reprise their roles. “Therefore, I Am Not Alone”), performed by Little Glee Monster.

On April 19, 2018, Funimation announced that the series would air on Adult Swim’s Toonami block beginning on May 5.A fourth season was declared in the 44th issue of Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine of 2018. This was later confirmed with the airing of the final episode to season three on September 29, 2018. On December 19, 2018, the My Hero Academia website confirmed a release date of October 12, 2019, together with a important visual.Funimation had triggered the first episode of the fourth year at Anime Expo on July 6, 2019, with all the English dub. Kenji Nagasaki is serving as chief director of the fourth year, with Masahiro Mukai as manager.

Funimation and Madman Entertainment will premiere the first installment of the English dub in Australia in Madman Anime Festival Melbourne and Perth on September 14 and October 4, 2019, respectively. The initial opening theme is”Polaris” by Blue Encount, although the first end theme is”Kōkai no Uta” by Sayuri.
